If you've been considering Emulator Enhancer registration but putting it off due to cost, now is your chance. I think you're mixing John Stiles (who ported a ton of emus to Mac back in the classic days, but pretty much left the scene now) and Richard Bannister (possibly the biggest name of Mac emulation right now).īy the way, I once complained to Bannister about the newer version of GenesisPlus being slower than the older one or than SNES9X, and he explained to me the reason. The newer versions of his emulators pump the graphics through the graphics card (a la Quartz Extreme). The Genesis had a higher resolution (320 x 224) than the SNES (256x224)*, so a low-end card (such as the 16MB Rage 128 in a G3 iMac) can easily handle the SNES' graphics, but not the Genesis'. On the other hand, he says it runs much more smoothly than the older version in a more capable graphics card. * pretty much every SNES game runs at 256x224 the system could work at 512x448, but with severe color/layer/speed limitations, so this mode was not commonly used. I run the Nestopia emulator on my mac book, which has OS X. And yes i bought the emulator enhancer from that Richard Bannister site. i went to preferences and clicked "joystick" but i look at the everything and click on stuff but nothing works. So now that i've got it, i plugged the controller into the adapter, and then plugged the adapter into the usb port. Luckily i found my old NES controller in my closet and through Retrozone, ordered a usb adapter for it. I downloaded nestopia and was playing with my keyboard and got tired of using the keyboard so i went searching for a joystick. I think i'm really retarded but i have no idea how to make my controller work. ![]()
